How It Works

Why I’m Out of Network and How It Benefits You

Choosing the right mental health care provider is an important decision, and I believe that you deserve a level of care that is personalized, flexible, and truly focused on your well-being. That’s why I’ve chosen to operate as an out-of-network provider. It allows me to offer a unique and highly individualized approach to your care—something that’s often difficult to achieve within the constraints of insurance networks.

More Time and Attention

In-network providers are often limited by tight schedules and high patient volumes dictated by insurance companies. By being out of network, I can dedicate more time to each session, ensuring that we address your concerns in depth and explore meaningful solutions. This also allows me to remain available for questions or support between sessions, giving you the continuity of care you deserve.

Personalized Care, Tailored to You

Every patient is unique, and mental health care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Being out of network gives me the flexibility to focus solely on your needs, rather than adhering to treatment protocols or restrictions imposed by insurance providers. This means we can prioritize what works best for you—not just what’s covered.

Greater Privacy and Control

When you use insurance, your mental health information is often shared with insurance companies, which may impact your privacy. As an out-of-network provider, I don’t need to share detailed clinical notes or diagnoses with third parties, giving you greater control over your personal information.

What Are Your Rates?

Most appointments are 25-30 minutes at $285. If we’re doing therapy or just have lots to talk about, extended appointments are 45-50 minutes at $415. Your first visit is usually between 75-90 minutes and is $485.

Will My Insurance Company Reimburse Me?

Although I don’t bill insurance companies directly, I provide a detailed superbill after each session. This can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Many of my patients find that their insurance plans reimburse a significant portion of the costs, so that it’s not much more than a copay.

Investing in Your Mental Health

I understand that out-of-network care is an investment, and I strive to make it worthwhile by providing a level of care that is compassionate, responsive, and focused on achieving real results. My goal is to ensure that every session is meaningful, empowering you with the tools and strategies to feel your best.

If you have questions about how out-of-network care works or need assistance understanding your benefits, I’m happy to help guide you through the process. Together, we can create a plan that aligns with your needs and supports your journey to better mental health.

Do You Offer Virtual Appointments?

In fact I’m all virtual! Ever since Covid, I think people got used to seeing their doctor from the comfort of their couch. No one wants to go back to fighting traffic and taking time off of work to make an appointment on time.

Can I see your Golden Doodles?

Cali and George are my virtual therapy dogs, they’ll do what they can to help.
